SportsDataIO Launches New Depth Charts Endpoint For NFL Coverage
NFL customers can now take advantage of up-to-the-minute depth charts via our new endpoint. Each NFL team now has each offensive, defensive, and special position broken down by order of depth. These depth charts are based on trustworthy information, gathered by the researchers on our data operations team, to ensure accuracy prior to and throughout the NFL season.

Technical
This endpoint provides the depth chart for each NFL team. For each team, each position in Offense, Defense, and Special Teams will have numerous players assigned to it, ordered by DepthOrder. As well as their DepthOrder, each player's PlayerID is included for easy cross-referencing. Each individual change is timestamped.
Operational
Our data operations team monitors credible, trustworthy sources each day prior to and during the NFL season to ensure the accuracy of our NFL depth charts. Our operations team continues to update this throughout the season based on roster changes and the latest, trustworthy news from the league. Due to the nature of depth charts, these are most actively updated between the NFL Draft and the end of postseason, with changes made on a live basis when needed.
