Competition Feeds

Teams, Players & Rosters

SportsDataIO's college women's basketball (CWBB) data includes comprehensive coverage of all NCAA Division 1 teams, as well as all non-D1 teams that play against a D1 opponent in a given season.

Key Notes:

  • Player profiles and team rosters are not managed or tracked.
    • Team profiles contain information such as school name, team nickname, conference affiliation, total wins and losses, conference-specific wins and losses, and official college colors (provided in hexadecimal format).
      • TeamIDs are provided for all tracked teams and can be mapped directly to their respective season schedules.

Team profiles are updated annually at the start of each season and maintained continuously throughout the year.

        Schedules & Gameday Info

        Regular Season Schedule

Regular season schedules are released throughout the summer, typically being announced individually by teams or conferences. Conference and non-conference schedules can also be released separately. As games are announced, game records will be updated and the announced games are made available in the various schedule endpoints.

        Preseason and In-Season Tournaments

Each year, there are multiple preseason and in-season tournaments, usually held at neutral venues. Many of these tournaments use bracket-style formats. As each round/game is known, schedule records are updated to add the new game to our feeds. Since these games count towards team's regular season records, each game will have a SeasonType = 1.

        March Madness and Selection Sunday

        • Day and time of games are in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).
          • The women’s college basketball brackets are not updated live, meaning games will appear following the announcement of the entire bracket seeding, with game times.
            • As the tournament progresses, games are created once matchups are known for each subsequent tournament round.

              Scores & Game State

Scores and Game State are updated live during all games, along with the final score being provided after the game is completed and verified.

              • Score includes the score for each quarter plus the final score for both teams.
                • Game State includes things like score, current period, game clock, time remaining, and if the game is in overtime.

                  Final Only (No Game State)

                  • Final score results are delivered after the event is final and are delivered in quarterly and total score values. Final scores are available around 5-10 minutes after each game concludes.

A full list of available score details can be found here:

Live & Final (With Game State)

                    • Live Game coverage is delivered when an event "Status" field switches from "Scheduled" to "InProgress"
                      • Game State data is updated alongside all other live in-game data, typically 30-60 seconds behind TV broadcasts
                        • Live scores are delivered in quarterly and total score values.
                          • Final Scores are available at the conclusion of each event.

A full list of available game state details can be found here:

To track games and their progress live, it is best to use the Games - by Date (Live & Final) endpoint.

                            • This includes full scores and gameday info delivered live and post-game. Live data includes quarter and score info. Gameday info includes game status, start time, and season type.
