The Charlotte Hornets moved into their new venue, the Spectrum Center, in 2005, offering capacity for 19,000 fans. Renovations for the stadium began in 2015 and were eventually completed ahead of the 2016-2017 season. As part of the renovations, they installed a state-of-the-art scoreboard, which at the time was the largest in the NBA. Additional improvements included digital screens throughout all concourses of the stadium. SportsDataIO was chosen through a digital signage partner to provide a mix of NBA data feeds to power the newly installed screens throughout the stadium, offering fans real time scores and game state data for the action on the court and to power various overlay graphics and tickers for reporting on other action around the league.
